Testing Information
We hope your experience using the
LAAPhysics software will be enjoyable and rewarding.
Before completing the application to field test LAAPhysics
modules and development tools, please read through the information
below. You may then complete and submit the application
form found at this link: Field
Tester Application. Please note that adequate field
testing requires certain kinds of information from field testers;
hence, the large number of questions on the application form.
Licensing
Agreement
Please read the LAAPhysics
License Agreement to which you must agree as part
of the download procedure. By downloading the software,
you will be agreeing to this license. .
Privacy Policy
Our privacy policy
is simple and straightforward: we do not provide, share, sell,
or transfer any personal information to a third party. In
order to provide our educational services, we must collect certain
information from faculty and students. Access to this information
is restricted to educational use by faculty and students in accordance
with existing legal statutes governing online information and
grade privacy restrictions. For more detailed information on our
website privacy policy and software policy, follow the Privacy
Statement link. Please review these policies to acquire
a complete understanding of how LAAPlatform uses information (read
full Privacy Statement).
Application
Approval
Once your application
has been approved, you will receive an email notification that
contains your username and your assigned password. This
username and password combination will allow you to access the
LAAPAdmin course
administration tool where you can download the client software.
You will use your same username and password to login to the LAAPhysics
client software.

Before downloading the
LAAPhysics software package, please familiarize yourself with
LAAPAdmin.
Faculty will use LAAPAdmin
to download the client software, 'create courses,' manage course
enrollment, assign grades, and monitor student progress.
Students will use LAAPAdmin
to download the software, manage their accounts and check their
grades.
Faculty accounts:
Once a faculty member receives an account, s/he must establish
a LAAPhysics 'course' in LAAPAdmin.
The software will automatically assign a course number to each
course. Faculty should distribute this course number to
all students who will be using LAAPhysics in the course.

Student Accounts:
Once a student obtains a LAAPhysics 'course number,'
s/he will need to go to the LAAPAdmin
login page, select the 'create a student account link,'
and enter the course number on the application form. Account
information (usernames and passwords) will then be emailed to
students, allowing them to login to LAAPAdmin
and to download the LAAPhysics software. For step-by step instructions,

Downloading
Once you login to LAAPAdmin,
follow the 'Download' link to download and install the LAAPhysics
software. The Download page will provide installation
instructions.
LAAPHelp
LAAPhysics has provided
a HELP system that will assist you in getting started using the
LAAPhysics software. LAAPHelp includes tutorials, an index of
items included in the HELP system, and a glossary of terms.
You can access LAAPHelp from either LAAPAdmin
or from within LAAPTutor.
Reporting Bugs
You may report bugs in one of two
ways: 1) by clicking on the 'bug' button located on the Toolkit
menu in the Tutor window. This allows you to submit your bug report
directly from inside the LAAPhysics software.
Or, you may use the 'Bug
Report' link in the sidebar menu of LAAPAdmin.
There is some chance
that your institution's firewall will prevent you from connecting
to the software. See the instructions on the server
information page.
